Roy

Roy embarked on his woodworking journey in the spring of 1971, crafting beautiful cedar patio furniture that captured the essence of craftsmanship. It was around 1990 and patio furniture started to be constructed out of plastic when his focus shifted towards sharing his passion by selling cedar lumber and pine. Other various hardwoods followed by 1991.

Beyond his dedication to woodworking, Roy embraced the joys of family life, raising two kids who, in turn, gifted him with five delightful grandchildren. While woodworking remained his primary endeavor, Roy continued farming, cultivating sweetcorn and pumpkins on the side—a tradition he continues to uphold to this day.

His workshop stands proudly on family property that has been a part of their lineage since 1910, a place where Roy's roots run deep. Growing up amidst this rich heritage, he absorbed the essence of craftsmanship from his father, who lent a guiding hand when he embarked on his woodworking venture.

Pauline, Roy's beloved wife, seamlessly stepped into the role of his partner in the workshop after his father's passing in '93. Often spotted meticulously sanding wood in the shop, her presence became a cherished and integral part of Roy's woodworking legacy. Together, they wove their passion into every piece, creating not just furniture, but stories etched in wood that resonated through generations.
